Our Approach
Infrastructure, not a marketplace.
We're Building Infrastructure, Not a Marketplace
Most agricultural platforms approach the problem by building listing-based marketplaces, assuming discovery is the main friction point. We believe the real friction lies in trust, quality verification, payments, and logistics.
Smart Agri Network is building the operating system for agricultural commerce. We are building the transaction layer, the data layer, and the trust layer. The marketplace listings are merely a means to facilitate transactions, not the end product.
The Data Moat
Every transaction on our network generates granular data: supply availability, localized pricing, real-time demand, quality metrics, and logistics performance.
This data aggregates into an agricultural intelligence layer. Over time, this intelligence becomes our ultimate strategic asset—enabling predictive pricing, optimized routing, and targeted financial services—creating a moat that a simple marketplace cannot replicate.
Why Jashore, Why Tomatoes, Why Restaurants
District: Jashore
The #1 vegetable-producing district in Bangladesh. Produces ~800,000 tonnes/year annually with an impressive yield of 25 tonnes/hectare.
Crop Focus: tomato and winter vegetables
Focused initially in Jashore Sadar and Bagherpara upazilas due to high concentration and transaction frequency.
Target Buyers: restaurants, hotels, and institutional kitchens
High-frequency, repeat demand makes unit economics work faster than targeting individual consumers.
The Competitive Context
We are aware of the landscape. There are 12+ active platforms across the region, with $3B+ in funding. Yet, No Indian agritech has reached unicorn status since 2020 despite $2B+ invested.
We know this is an incredibly difficult space to digitize. That is exactly why we are taking an infrastructure-first, service-oriented approach rather than relying on pure software.
